Toilet Paper Pumpkins

I told my Seniors at the YMCA that we were going to make Toilet Paper Pumpkins… They looked and sounded a little skeptical!… as did the other workers…

I proceeded to pass out rolls of Toilet Papersquares of light weight Orange Material… Green Felt… Autumn Silk Leaves… and Green Curly Ribbon…

20″ X 20″ square of light weight fabric

and square of green felt about 4″ X 4″…

I directed them to…

put the roll of toilet paper in the middle of the square…

pull up sides and corners of material squares …

and poke it into the center… pushing it down… OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

“Voila’!” … a Pumpkin shape!

Roll up the felt and insert into hole…

“stem”!…

Stick silk leaves into hole next to stem…

Tie a couple of strips of Curly Green Ribbon around leaf stem and pumpkin stem… tie knot twice…

2 strips about 18″ long…

Curl ribbon with scissors…

and there are your vines …

Everyone loved them!…   OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

and asked if they could to take them home…

“Of course!… They are yours!… You made them!”, I said…

No need for glue… and pre-cutting materials… made it easy for all of them to do most of the craft themselves…

Now, everyone that saw them… wants to know how to do it…

Glad our “pumpkins” turned out so well… and the toilet paper jokes were a bonus!

  1. Love these… I made these at school for a fall craft. We used cut pieces of brown paper bags rolled up for the pumpkin stem and Halloween prints as the cloth…. its a great craft because everyone’s finished product comes out looking wonderful, no matter what skill levels. Thanks for sharing.
