I was going to ask the Grandkids over for Homemade Ice Cream yesterday… but, could never get a hold of them…

I found out today that they were in Lexington for my youngest Granddaughter’s Basketball Tournament…

Photo of other wins they had earlier!…

They came in 2nd in the state of Kentucky in their age bracket…

She will be 13 in a few weeks…

They are really good!

So today… knowing they wouldn’t be able to come up… I decided to not let the ingredients just sit there…

I made the ice cream for us!…

The recipe called for whole milk…

I had half & half and 2%… so I used half of each…

I had some mixes on hand… Vanilla, Chocolate and Strawberry… You can see what the guys chose…

VANILLA!

You just whisk the milk and mix together and put in the Ice Cream Maker…

The machine is electric… and we have had it for a number of years!…

Ice bought yesterday had been put in the cooler and was still frozen…

and you need Rock Salt…

You place the container of mix into the freezer… put on lids…

and then add the crushed ice and salt…

The freezer probably run for an hour before I heard it stopped…

I added a little ice and salt twice as it melted…

It was finished!

Creamy and delicious French Vanilla was a good choice!…

Sorry… the kids had to miss out… but, there will be other days…

I bet they’ll want the chocolate or strawberry!
