I found this unfinished board already beveled and cut…
ready to paint…
I knew I could use it for the “Teacup Holders” Bobby and I are making…
Bobby just had to spray it a Mossy Green…
and it matched the cups/saucers I had found perfectly…
They look so cute hung on a wall…

I imagine you recognize this squash…
It seems to grow in abundance!
This one was huge!…
I cut it in half… peeled… and sliced in thin circles…
placing them in salt water for a while…
Dipped in egg that had been beaten…
and dredged in Bread Crumbs that I had…
These happened to be Italian Style…
so I only added a little salt/pepper when frying in cooking oil…
YES!… I fry sometimes… There is just nothing like Fried Green Tomatoes…
and in this case Fried Zucchini fresh out of the garden…
Drain on paper towels…
and you will just have to pick one up immediately to taste!

Bobby’s birthday was celebrated last Sunday with the kids…
They just make him Happy!
Both of our sons, daughter-in-law, her Mother, the three grandkids and a friend of Carson…
and of course me!… were there to celebrate!
My youngest son with my oldest Granddaughter and Grandson…
Youngest Granddaughter in cap…
and Grandson in blue shirt with a friend who came along…
Melanie (daughter-in-law) made two chocolate cakes…
and this one tastes like Hostess Ho Ho’s …
The lotus candle that opens up, sings and rotates…
was a hit for the cake as we sang Happy Birthday!…
We had cooked out…
Hamburgers/Hotdogs (all the fixings)
Baked Beans
Green Beans
Pasta Salad
Squash Casserole from Melanie’s Mom…(DELICIOUS!)
Good Times!
Hey, you have a lot going on, as usual! Glad the birthday party was fun! Good times indeed! ~ Sheila
What great photographs of your family and the Bobby’s birthday celebration. I have fried zucchini too…I also like stuffing it with the baked inner flesh and bread cubes, and with just about anything else worked into the mix. I think I might try some jarred artichoke hearts this week. Fun! Have a happy week! :D
nothing like family!
Laughing…believe it or not I reread my comment before I hit post. What is that extra “the” in there? I have no idea…getting old I guess. :D
I reread too…but, sometimes my errors slip by…figure…no big deal!…
Your family definitely understands the importance of cake :D Looks like a great family occasion!
simple and good!
