Carson’s Hot Wheel/ Matchbox Clock…

I have lots of Hot Wheels and Match Box cars of my grandson’s from when he was little…

He has outgrown them…

being more interested in sports… camping… playing in the woods… building things…

So…

I saw an idea about making a decorative mirror using these infamous little cars…

But, I decided a clock would be great for his room…

but, how do I do that???

I purchased the clock first…

and then decided after looking around in the craft supplies…

that this oval canvas for painting resembled a race track…

I glued the clock with clear Loc-tite “GO2 Glue”…

after finding center…

Cut hole through canvas where battery can be replaced on clock when needed…

I found a scarf for $1.29 when in the craft department…

reminding me of a checkered flag at the FINISH LINE…

Cut 2 duplicate pieces …

and Tacky Glued it to the sides of the clock… keeping as even as possible…

like Hodge Podge…

Some of Carson’s cars… there were lots more!

This one had to be on it…

He loved it and thought it was so funny when he was little…

It’s a “toilet seat car” with a plunger for a gear shift…

Painting with black paint along sides…

I was liking the look!…

Glued on cars and Hot Wheels/Match Box emblems…

17 cars surround the clock…

I liked the result…

and hope he does too!

  1. This is sooo good!! Very creative! You can never be too old for Hot Wheels though. My cousin Chris and his dad, my Uncle Dave still buy Hot Wheels and semis from Walmart and other places. If my papaw could get out more he’d probably buy any model train he could find! Lol
