A Time of Waiting

This has been a week of “waiting”…

Bobby’s sister’s husband is not doing well at all…

They had called Hosparus in when we went to Georgia and visited at Thanksgiving…k2507145

and now it’s just one day at a time… for his loving family being close and waiting for the inevitable to happen…

Being long distance… (out-of-town) is hard…

Would love to be there sharing their hurt… their loss… their last moments with a wonderful husband, Daddy , friend and relative…

Yes… we are planning on traveling down to Georgia… when we receive “the news”…

Our love is deep for this special guy…

He blessed us with kindness, his love for collectibles, his woodworking skills, his avid movie watching, love of a good cup of coffee… and good things to eat…

His love for his children and grandkids… and especially his sweetheart for over 50 years…

Bobby said, “Malcolm pursued Lorene when she worked at a dime store in Macon…

showing up every day she worked”…

and it seems LOVE was in the air for sure… ro_dorklove_c

There are people who make a family a “family”…

He is one!   12512272_10204301840465545_3687651160107460801_n

We decided to just go down and be with the family on Saturday…k20659455

Traffic was horrendous!… through Chattanooga, Atlanta and even to Macon!…

We stopped by a cousin’s house in Tennessee long enough for a coffee break k7884385and see them, their son and family…

The boys hadn’t seen each other for over 20 years…

Doug  was happy to see Scott and meet his wife and son…

We left and arrived in Atlanta at Bobby’s sister’s in time for dinner she had prepared for us…

How fortunate we are for this loving family…

We then headed to Warner Robbins, GA… to check in our room k21139828 and then immediately to Bobby’s sister’s house… where Malcolm was…

He was at home with all his close family and kids…

We stayed and visited… left to get some sleep… and then returned the next morning…

Malcolm was the same…

Hanging on…

We took turns talking to him… hoping he could hear us… and he gripped our hands k6314979 every one!…

With family in and out of his room until 1:30pm…

I stepped inside the room to find Lorene … his wife…  and a long time friend sitting quietly… praying…

We talked a little and could tell… he was leaving us…

But… before he did… his daughter… had cleaned him up…

straightened him in the bed… talking to him the whole time… and gave him his last dose of medicine…

He looked her straight in the face with those pretty blue eyes… trying to talk… but, not understandable…

She kissed her Daddy and decided to leave for a few minutes to clean up herself…

He passed about 30 minutes later…

She is thankful to have had this moment with him…

The family is doing well… We had to leave the next day due to Bobby having his port removed from taking his Chemo…

We felt so blessed to have this time with everyone… although missing the funeral… k11299828

It was just right from what I have heard… many friends/family…

and when talking to Bobby’s sister… she said, “We feel so at PEACE!”…k4611554

What more could you want!
