This morning…
My husband being more Southern even than me…
loves his Grits!…
and I love things my Mom taught me to cook when I was young…
So… today it was a combo of both …
Grits with butter-salt-pepper and “Eggs in a Nest”…
I used a small jar I had to cut out hole in piece of bread…
Butter skillet… Crack egg into middle…
I know some would just leave it this way and fry on both sides… but, since I like my eggs well-done…
I break the yolk and fry till done…
To each his own…
Added homemade strawberry jam given to me by a friend…
COMPLETE!

If you notice the sign behind us… It says “Twisted Sisters”…
this is what our brother calls us… so I guess they named this store after us!…
located in Cherokee, NC. …
Bobby and I went to the park in the middle of Cherokee… that has this wonderful rolling stream right through the middle…
You can wade… picnic… sit and take in the beauty… listening to the water making songs in your head…
or even inner tube down the bouncy small waves…
The benches surround a campfire area… where on the weekends stories are told and music is played…
The walk-ways are patterned with leaves engraved on them…
I waded like I had always wanted to do…
and then a downpour of rain came down so fast… that we ended up under the bridge with about 20 others…
until it stopped and the sun came out bright again!
As I have said the flowers were so pretty… rain and sunshine makes it’s magic!
We toured a little of the shops and this small mill… Bright “BIRD” Houses in gift shop…
A nap came next and then some penny slots at the casino … just fun!
Just fun! I like that! We didn’t take to grits but as you say, each to his own! :)
Quite understand on the grits…I grew up eating them with butter, sugar and milk… like oatmeal…
