Gatlinburg: Sipping and Shopping

After parking in Gatlinburg… we made our way through the people (ALWAYS CROWDED!)… to take in some shops…

One of my favorite spots is “The Village” area…

One of my favorite shops…

27 shops in this one area… and beautiful sitting areas to rest among the flowers and fountains… Great spot!

Free “sips”… caught our eye… Homemade Moonshine!…

although my sister looks like she is enjoying herself… (Which she did)… I probably tasted more this time…

They had apple pie, root beer, butterscotch, caramel apple, blackberry, peach… you could taste 12 …

Next stop Candy Shop… Have to have their taffy… Have brought some home…

ever since our first trip with the kids over 40 years ago… OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

made right in front of our eyes!

Some boys were so fascinated about the candy makingwishing out loud for free samples…

Carolyn bought them a bag to share…

They were taken back I think of her generosity…

and thanked her for the taffy!

Donuts are a must from this bakery…

Sugar-Cinnamon Cake are my favorite!

but so much more!

Days could be spent here in this tourist town… and then never see it all…

Heading back to Cherokee again over the Mountain…

views are breathtaking!…

Never tire of this!

Sister and Bobby relaxing a little before heading down to Cherokee…

A clerk in the donut shop was telling us of the Elk at the foot of the mountain…

and to our surprise one was in view as we came down… cherokee_elk2-2_1133_522_80_s_c1
