Friends of ours… wanted to go for a ride and have lunch…
sounded good to us…
We leave most of these one day excursions to them…
They go all of the time… and come up with some neat places …
We headed South of Louisville and taking the back roads … we could take in some of the Fall Colors…
A beautiful day in the 80 degree range… Very warm for November for sure!…
David had decided on Rough River State Park… Lodge/Restaurant…
The scenery was beautiful!…
The lodge/restaurant sits atop the River/Lake… with a panaromic view…
We observed boaters… the sun making the water sparkle…
and trees blowing in a light breeze… releasing it’s colorful leaves in the air…
Picnic tables scattered outside…
with walking paths outside the restaurant that led to cabins and rooms at the lodge…
What serenity!…
The Park was built in the 1960’s…
I remember spending many days there on the beach with friends…
Young and carefree!… in my teens!…
Been a few years… since I was there… some changes… but, yet the same…
A little yearning for a few days of feeling that young again!
The lodge had Christmas decorations up already…
a little early for me… but, they have to do it when they can…
Even a Christmas tree in the lobby…
I could picture sitting there when it was cold outside and maybe a snow flurry…
Warm and cozy!…
Might have to happen!…
Lunch with good friends is really nice…
and the food was excellent…
Good and plentiful!…
As we walked outside after eating… the Holly Berries were in abundance…
so pretty!…
They lined the walkways…
The weather enticed the guys to sit outside while Janice and I checked out the gift shop…
A very nice day as we meandered back through the countryside to home…
Good pictures of y’all and your friends. Lovely scenery in the park.
been going there since a teenager…great times…
