Panettone Italian: [panetˈtoːne]) is a type of sweet bread loaf originally from Milan… usually prepared and enjoyed for Christmas and New Year.
It is made during a long process that involves curing the dough, which is acidic, similar to sourdough. The proofing process alone takes several days, giving the cake its distinctive fluffy characteristics. It contains candied orange, citron, and lemon zest, as well as raisins, which are added dry and not soaked. Many other variations are available such as plain or with chocolate. It is served in wedge shapes, vertically cut…
I get this bread at Christmas when the stores carry it…
Not overly sweet but, so light and fluffy…
After reading on the wrapper… I decided to make French Toast with it…
I sliced a large piece… then sliced in half…
Dipped in a mixture of eggs (beaten) with milk and sugar…
What a special treat for breakfast!… served with warm syrup… or fruit…

Brioche is often cooked with fruit or chocolate chips and served on its own, or as the basis of a dessert with many local variations in added ingredients, fillings or toppings. “Brioche is eaten with dessert or tea”…
which I found to be my favorite way!
Brioche (/ˈbriːoʊʃ/ is a pastry of French origin that is similar to a highly enriched bread, and whose high egg and butter content give it a rich and tender crumb.
It has a dark, golden, and flaky crust, frequently accentuated by an egg wash applied after proofing.
All I can say… IT IS DELICIOUS!
This one had chocolate chips… and it literally melted in your mouth!
