It’s been a week of ups and downs… which is what life is…
Sometimes good times/days… and sometimes bad times/days…
Goodness to brighten our days and let us know we should have Faith… and be thankful for the Blessings bestowed on us…
and the bad to let us know …
without the good… we might not survive… and the Faith we have leads us through even the worst of days…
My son’s roommate where he lives passed away this week…
58 years old… a good guy… a good heart… with a Love for God…
Found out he had cancer and was gone in a few months…
A shock to all of the residents where he lived… including my son…
He had befriended my son… helping him adjust to new surroundings…
I took him instant coffee … a pack of cigarettes every now and then…
We talked every time we saw each other…
My son knew his whole life’s history… as he talked of his youth…
They had a Memorial Service on Friday to honor him at the Home where he and my son lived…
A beautiful… heartfelt ceremony…
A wonderful photo of Roger on display… remembrances given… songs sung… tears shed…
A delicious lunch was served for all who attended…
The director/manager of the home… went to every one of her residents with a hug… a kiss… and condolences…
I sight to behold…
Thank you Lord for sending me this avenue to loving people…

Another death… This time a sweet lady younger than Roger… has passed… from my TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) group
…
So unexpected for family and friends…
No information as to cause of death yet… which keeps family/friends in a strange hold in time…
Hopefully a service can come soon for her… for all to grieve and remember her…

Bobby gets cataract surgery next week… so glad!…
he has little vision in right eye…
The Doctor says the Chemo brings cataracts on…
and that probably the other eye will get the same way…
These side effects… are so bad…
But..
he does it with a smile most of the time…

A cake for my guys… I was surprised last year by this mix …because it looks like it would be chocolate/orange flavored… but, just vanilla…
Still so good!…
I decided to make it “my way”… marbled/layered in a tube pan…
Pretty I think…

A week for sure…
My Granddaughter has moved into her own apartment with a girlfriend…
I was kinda expecting it…
and it was time…
She has lived with me and her Poppy for about 3-1/2 years… going to school (University of Louisville)… working hard at UPS… and part-time work at Cattleman’s Restaurant…
A diligent… hard-working… independent… smart young lady…
and did I mention sweet and pretty … with a loving heart…
Perfect???
well… maybe… in Grandma’s eyes!…
She has added another roommate too…
a new puppy… named Dexter…
The cutest!… an Australian Shepherd…
She has always loved animals… and finally has one she can call her own…
Love it…

In between things happening…
we have laid some carpet tiles in my computer room…
I would highly recommend for a small room…
economical… and easy to lay… just some minor cutting… and makes for a fun floor with the mixed pattern I chose…
