Sunday Grateful- December 1, 2013

I always thought of Sunday as a “day of rest“…

Times have changed…

and Sunday has become as much a part of the work week as Monday…

Stores, business, restaurants, recreational areas, etc. …

are open pretty much 24 hours a day…k13787412

I also have found that with retirement…

Sunday is like most days that I have…

I actually can rest on any of the days of the week…

Stay in bed if I want…

Eat a late breakfast…

Read …

Watch TV…

Lay on the couch…

I don’t know if we can get this pattern we have started

back in gear…

Things have changed so fast…

that even Sunday is just another day in people’s eyes…

I have to say… I think the Lord had it right…

Giving us Sunday for a “day of rest”…

a time to visit Him in a church setting…

a time to have dinner with loved ones…

a time to kick off our shoes and just sit and relax…

a time to clear our minds…

a time to actually be with our kids/families/friends…

and to have an actual conversation…

I’m thankful for Sundays!k13684818

and I hope to use them in the future the way the Lord intended!

Me and My God Talking…

My quiet time is in the morning…

God and I have many conversations at this time…

Is it prayer?

I actually just call it talking… k4923057

You won’t hear my voice… but, God does

It’s a time I bring up all of those who are in need… Sometimes me

and if you were able to hear

You would hear this soft voice telling me in a quiet way

Things I need to do…

People I need to give special care to…

Cards I need to write…k7124984

People I need to call…k12000398

Kind words that need to be spoken…

I try and listen

and take heed to these loving words coming to me…

Someone was laid on my heart today…

and so… I will have to do it…

what God has whispered in my ear to do…

It’s usually just a kind actti087a0203

I’m not HimI am just his messenger…

but, He has given me this wonderful task of helping others in small ways…

What an honor!

Daily Prompt: Morality Play

Where do your morals come from — your family? Your faith? Your philosophical worldview? How do you deal with those who don’t share them, or derive them from a different source?

Photographers, artists, poets: show us THE SOURCE.

I think we are born with morals

I think we all know right and wrongk12974549

but, it’s our way in reacting to that knowledge that leads us to what our morals become

As children our parents influence us greatly…

telling us to say, “please”…or “thank you”087a3478

is just a beginning…

Showing us with good examples… how they talk… how they treat people… their reaction to situations…

So… do morals come from family?k4917370

most assuredly!

Then, I begin to explore the worldk0257007

… I make friends with their own taught morals… Do I switch to what I am hearing? … or do I stay strong in what was taught me?…

So our free will car0139

of making our own choices starts to influence our morals

We go to school… we go to work… we might get marriedk8117625

So many influences

In my case… I then had an encounter with accepting Christ‘s ways in my thinking…

I had an experience where I felt the love of God come into my heart…k0509118

Does this make me perfect and a good example of morals?…

No, it just influences my way of dealing with life… and my morals start to form

I try to follow His ways… because they… to me… make for good relationships… good judgement… lasting friendships… a good marriage… less problems… coping skills

and by living this way… I see goodness in others… can relate to others… and I feel at peaceMy morals have been formed!

Yes… I would like to tell people this is the way… but, all I can do is be an example… and hopefully others will come to this conclusion

I’ve never found that forcing your moralsyour beliefs… which is what morals are… on anyone else…

We all have to find our own way!

Where God Ain’t!… My Sunday Grateful!- May 12, 2013

A little poem emailed to me today…

This will be “My Grateful” for today…

Grateful that God shows us in so many ways His wonder!

He was just a little boy,

On a week’s first day.

Wandering home from Bible School,

And dawdling on the way.

He scuffed his shoes into the grass;

He even found a caterpillar.

He found a fluffy milkweed pod,

And blew out all the “filler”.

A bird’s nest in a tree overhead,

So wisely placed up so high…

Was just another wonder,

That caught his eager eye.

A neighbor watched his zigzag course,

And hailed him from the lawn;

Asked him where he’d been that day

And what was going on.

“I’ve been to Bible School “,

He said and turned a piece of sod.

He picked up a wiggly worm k13729777replying,

“I’ve learned a lot about God“.

“M’m, very fine way”, the neighbor said,

“for a boy to spend his time”.

“If you’ll tell me where God is,

I’ll give you a brand new dime”.

Quick as a flash the answer came!

Nor were his accents faint.

“I’ll give you a dollar, Mister,

If you can tell me where God ain’t !”

“In God We Still Trust!”

After our country k0169345seeing, hearing and living through some horrific events lately… this song gives me courage to uplift my source of faith… belief… and pride..

So thankful for my provider… and hope… that there will be better days ahead…

I know we haven’t seen the likes of so many people in other countries… but, just a taste is enough for me to want it to end NOW!…

God Bless America..

In God I Trust!…

You place your hand on His Bible, when you swear to tell the Truth
His name is on our greatest Monuments, and all our money too,
And when we Pledge allegiance, there’s no doubt where we stand,
There is no separation, we’re one Nation under Him.

In God We Still Trust
Here in America
He’s the one we turn to every time
The goin’ gets rough
He is the source of all our Strength
The One who watches over us
Here in America
In God We Still Trust

Now there are those among us, who want to push Him out,
And erase His name from everything, this country’s all about,
From the Schoolhouse to the Courthouse, they’re Silencing His Word,
Now it’s time for all Believers, to make our Voices heard.

In God We Still Trust,
Here in America
He’s the one we turn to every time
The goin’ gets rough
He is the source of all our Strength
The One who watches over us
Here in America
In God We Still Trust

Here in America
Here in America
Here in America,

In God We Still Trust
Here in America,

In God We Still Trust
Here in America

Daily Prompts: Deja Vu

Have you ever truly felt déjà vu, the sensation that you’ve already had the experience you’re currently having?

Yes… I have had the sensation of deja vu…but, just in momentsseconds

                                                                                                                                                                A turn of my head…

A sound…

A quick photo in my mind…

A recollection that I had seen the same scene at another time…

It’s quite eery

A glimpse into the past

Gives you a quick intake of breath

I’ve said to whoever might be around, “I’ve seen or done that before!”… k10553752

It’s not a sense of an ongoing presence in the past… just a faint look

Quite mysterious… and makes me feel quite in awedna0011

the wonderment of heaven…

and the vastness of past and present happenings…

Daily Prompt: Sliced Bread!

King James
Bible (Cambridge Ed.)

Matthew 4:4
But he answered and said, It is written, Man
shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the
mouth of God.

This was my first thought on sliced bread

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could just slice some nice warm breadk7735029

take small bites… and the words and thoughts of God would enter us…

But, He gave us the choice… eat or not

I remember in Elementary School… when “Bible Reading” was still permitted…

that I chose this verse to read… I actually just opened the Bible and chose the verse that said something to me…

It has remained ever since…

I also remember my teacher saying, k7887590

“That’s one of my favorite verses too!”…

The small things that we carry throughout our lives that have influencd us…

Amazing isn’t it???
