Daily Prompt: Perspective

Write about the last disagreement you had with a friend or family member — from their perspective.

This lady… I don’t even remember her name… who helps my Grandma by taking her to Doctor’s appointments… picks up her prescriptions… takes her to Wal-Mart to shop… uses her car and gas…was so mean to me the other day…

I had met and talked to her one time when she picked us up and took my Grandma and me to Wal-Mart to grocery shop

Anyway… she had picked Granny up from the hospital after some tests were run on her… and then taken her to Wal-Mart to pick up prescriptions as usual and to do some major grocery shopping…

You see… my Mom and I had been living with Grandma for a couple of months… and we had finally gotten an apartment…

Granny had loaded the back of this lady’s car up with things for us… The lady had to help my Grandma with her walker… and take the riding grocery cart back in the store… after loading all of the groceries… They were really heavy!..

Anyway… I got home from school to find I had forgotten my key… and my Mom and Grandma were not home!… I dare them!… I called both of them and wanted to know when they would be home??? … I was cold!… and didn’t want to wait long… so I said, “Hurry up!”…

The lady evidently didn’t realize that I was COLD!…

Because when she and my Grandma got home… she had the audacity to ask ME to help them in with the groceries!… I said, “No way!… I’m COLD and I’m going inside!”…

and I said to my Grandma, “You could have at least had the key ready!”

The lady said, “Will you just take some things in as you go?”…

“No way!”, I said…

and proceeded into the house…

The lady seemed to think I had done something bad…”I dare her!”… I thought…

“Who does she think she is!”… asking ME to do anything…

So my Grandma hung 3 big bags on her walker and made it slowly up the ramp… as the lady grabbed as much as she could carry and came into the house…

She said, “You really aren’t going to help your Grandma in with the groceries?”… “Like NO!”, I said…

“I’ve been waiting outside in the cold … My Mom will get them in when she gets home”, I said….

She acted like she couldn’t believe her ears… and proceeds to go outside twice more and bring in all of the stuff my Grandma had bought my Mom and me…

She even seemed a little put out… when I said, “You need to mind your own business!”…

My grandma says to her… Just leave the things inside the door…

And this lady says, “No way… I’m very capable of bringing in the groceries, unlike some people!”… I do believe she was talking about me!… I dare her!… and let her know I didn’t like what she was saying in the least…

I start to cry… She had hurt my feelings… I even ran outside and met my Mom coming down the street… and by the time this mean ole’ lady came out of Grandma’s house, my Mom jumped her butt good!… I had really laid the tears on… and made this women out to be the mean thing she was!… Who in the world does she think she is!… as my Mom is hollering at her as we drove up and slammed on our brakes… My Mom was really mad that she had made her little girl cry… The lady proceeds to say something like, “All I was doing was helping your Mom and your Grandma… and I’ve done it often… I just asked her if she would help bring in some groceries”…

The lady seemed to be upset with us… I don’t know why?… and just got in her car and left…I say, “Good Riddance!”… How could she treat me so bad?

A “Doctor” That Still Makes House Calls!

Gift…

I had to go get the Doctor today… I had waited until I couldn’t stand it any longer… It was evident it was in need

It was calling out in pain

Had actually started smelling pretty bad

Had many different colors in different stages of sickness

I had heard I could find the Doctor at several clinics near by

That’s what I needed… a quick trip to save its life

The first clinic said, “Sorry… the Doctor is out and I don’t know when he will return”…

So off to the next one… It had to be today… It was in too much pain to wait another day!

I was so happy to find the Doctor in at our next place of business… Actually they had two Doctors… and proceeded to tell me how each worked…What a good job each one did…

It was in such need… and I knew I had to be able to carry the Doctor in my car and get him into my house…

Actually YOU are the main ingredient in this Doctoring process…

You are the one who is going to push… pull… fill and unload

You are the operator

I’m talking about the “Rug Doctor”… That machine that has come to my rescue many times over the years… Actually it has come to mycarpet‘s ” rescue… Summer traffic had done a number on it… Grease. grime, food stains and plain old dirt!

It’s the Holiday Season and I wanted my carpet clean before I put up my tree or decorate

The Rug Doctor does a great job!… It’s easy to use…

It uses a liquid concentrated detergent for carpets… or you can use any type of cleaner you prefer… You fill with water and soap solution in the bottom container… Then a top container collects all of the dirty water extracted from the carpet with the vacuum part … Empty dirty water when full… and repeat process…

It just takes some muscle… Not for the faint at heart…  But, taking your time and taking a break every now and then… It does a very good job!…

It rents for a mere $26.00 and I got a rebate  for $7.00… which I will mail tomorrow…

I have 24 hours before I have to return it…

I felt it was a great deal… and am very pleased with the job it did…

The only drawback I can see so far… is how I will feel tomorrow… maybe a little sore… maybe a little tired … but, now my Christmas Tree can go up and company is welcome …

Thanks Mr. Rug Doctor… for your house call!

I Think It’s My “Sacroiliac”…

Oh, I hurt!…From what people say it’s my sacroiliac… relating to the sacrum and the upper portion of the hip bone ilium, or to the joint between the sacrum and ilium …All I know is that I hurt! I believe it’s because I have been blogging too much…in other words sitting in one spot for too long pinching a nerve or something…or it could be the tennis shoes or sandals  I wore causing the problem…I really do not know…This is my own diagnosis…Do you ever do that?…Diagnose your own ailments? …What is funny…is that we usually do know what causes us to hurt and what we can do to fix it…My prescription in my case is to rest it…but, keep using it…Take a pain reliever…In this case, I tried a muscle relaxer yesterday and last night that I had from a sore back  …I was wondering why I couldn’t keep my eyes open and went to bed so early…I never take much medicine…so it really relaxed me…so much so, that I could hardly talk…so I just gave in and went to bed …This morning I decided I better try something else…Extra Strength Tylenol   to the rescue!…and yes, I do believe it has helped…I’m going to try this prescription  that I have prescribed for myself through tomorrow…and then if not better I will make an appointment with a real Doctor and check out my ailment…I know I have symptoms to relate to her…Don’t you just love it though when you go to the Doctor and the first thing They say is,”What seems to be the problem?”…I”m here for YOU to tell me, I think …But, I describe the feeling or pain as best I can and wait for their diagnosis…It’s what I had come to the conclusion of…How about that! … Rest , take a pain-killer and if not better in a couple of days …come back! … and that will be $20.00 please!

“My Kids!”…

I doubt that I know what real pain is…Yes, I hurt but, some of our children (students with special needs)  had such pain due to their little bodies being twisted with Cerebral Palsy headaches from mental disorders muscle pain from sitting in a wheelchair all day…Leg aches from having braces on their legs to support them…We had the sweetest little girl named Sade’ in our class…She wasn’t so big…but, her little body was to the point of never being able to walk…never being able to stand …She was pretty much at the mercy of whoever was taking care of her at the moment…She didn’t really even talk…she was what I call a “heart breaker” She had the most wonderful contagious smile and a great sense of humor …She showed her wonderful personality through that big smile and laugh she gave us…We had to lift her from her wheelchair…to take care of her needs…I’m sure this was embarrassing for her…so we were as discreet as we could be…We talked, sang   and smiled at her during these times…She tried to help with all her might when we had to lift her …It of course became our routine …working together as the aides… to get her changed …cleaned … dressed…meeting her needs…This small fragile person …this little girl… will always be a bright memory in our minds…and when I hurt…I’ll remember her stamina …her determination and her willingness to help us as we were helping her…
