I think two of the most important things in life are the ability to read and write  … We have been given so many avenues to do these wonderful things… The simplest being pencil and paper … and lovely bound words that we call books… from the paperback to the hardbound … They are like treasures … opening up the world to anyone who takes the time to enjoy… Writings can be private… they can be public… they can be to the one you love … they can be written for teaching… to learn from… or just for pleasure to take you away to a land of fantasy and sheer bliss… I’ve read an article in a magazine that stayed with me to the point that I had to act on it… I’ve read a book to a child and walked away with more wisdom and growing than the child Reading and writing lets us express our feelings… our desires… our insights… As I read the words of others I gain little tidbits that remain with me… Some of the pieces I have saved to reread lately are:

“Time is free, but it’s priceless. You can’t
own it, but you can use it. You can’t keep
it, but you can spend it. Once you’ve lost it
you can never get it back.” Harvey MacKay

The goal of life is hope.

The pathway to the goal is love.

The gate that obstructs the path is pride.

The key to the gate is forgiveness.

“How far you go in life depends on you being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving and tolerant of the weak and the strong. Because someday in life you will have been all of these.” George Washington Carver

“When I met Christ I felt like I had swallowed sunshine.”

(E. Stanley Jones, +1973, Christian missionary)

As you see these people are quite diverse…Which tells me… we can learn from all!

Have you had a verse… a saying… a word… that has brought meaning to your life?

Share if you like… I would love reading them!
