My sleep pattern is out of whack!…
wanting to go to bed early…
and then waking at 3:30 or so wide awake…
so… I just go with the flow…
Get up… fix me a cup of hot coffee or sweet hot tea…
My Jill (cat) loves this… She has me all to herself…
It has been a pleasant week…
Bobby and I got to the YMCA … him to walk… and me to do my water aerobics…
I know the exercise is good for both of us…
The neuropathy in Bobby’s feet is not fun when he does this… but, feels he needs to try…
I love the water!…
Relaxing…
can do things I would never do on a hard surface…
clears my mind as I talk to fellow water companions…
The time change is probably what really messed me up…
On Tuesday… a movie with my sister… “The Shack”…
I had read the book years ago…
we enjoyed it very much…
and then Bob Evans for lunch…
Cold day… so we opted for coffee as soon as we sat down…
and soup/chili with a shared salad…
JUST RIGHT!…
Banana Bread accompanied our lunch which I chose to eat later at home…
A quick visit to our sister-in-law, nephew and niece…
A nice day to have some “sister time”…
We have a nephew that is a pastor at a church in Indiana… Just across the River…
As soon as Bobby was diagnosed with terminal cancer…
He asked “this Bobby” if he would do his funeral…
His words were, “I would be honored!”…
It has now been almost a full year since we had discussed this…
with my Bobby is still here by my side…
“Bobby” is also our nephew’s name…
and he came for lunch this week…
I have found easy is the best policy…
so I ordered BBQ/buns, mac/cheese, slaw and baked beans from our local BBQ place “Shack In The Back”…
It was delicious!…
and with the peach upside down cake I did make…
we ate and talked for two hours…
We talked of old times…
Have know “Bobby” since he was a teen…
We talked of things that have happened in each other’s lives…
Although we are older…
we have all grown…
“My Bobby”… was left with a Peace that someone who knows him personally will be taking care of this need in his life…
and that is a “good thing!”…
WE talk of all aspects of this trial that has been given us…
What he wants…
what I might do… or “have” to do!…
We share everything…
To top off the week I met a good friend since High School… over 50 years… for lunch…
We pick a place for lunch about once a month…
and talk for hours …
Good Friends are awesome!…
We went to Mimi’s… French food and atmosphere…
An orange/tangerine Mimosa sounded good to me and was REALLY good!…
Quiche Lorraine with a fresh salad was also the best!…
also a Banana/Chocolate Chip Muffin…VERY BIG!…
which i took home to enjoy later…
I had a coupon from the internet for either muffins or Birthday Crepe Cake…
I was bringing it home for my guys to split… so…
they said “CAKE!”…
It was excellent…
So fresh and tasty!…
would highly recommend!…
Our little waitress was so friendly and attentive…
We talked about our 50th Class Reunion coming up this October…
She is on the committee… making booklets… name tags… and video…
Looking forward to it… because it will probably be our last reunion…
There are always “lasts”…
whether something eaten… “all gone” … I would tell my boys…
whether it was the last day of school… we would just be ready to “jump for joy”…
last day of year…
last drop…
last supper…
whether it was the last day of vacation and heading home…
and we would be a little let down…
but, honestly we were tired and ready for “home”…
and so it will be… when our last days here on Earth come…
We loved the ride… with all of the ups/downs… but, “Home” looks pretty good…
I hope my Bobby can understand this…
A Heavenly Home … awaits all that have come to Jesus…
and what a Glorious Day that will be!…
