Daily Prompt: Happily Ever After

“And they lived happily ever after.” Think about this line for a few minutes. Are you living happily ever after? If not, what will it take for you to get there?

What did it take for me to reach where I am?

We all have our ideas as to what “Happily Ever After means… Fairytales always seem to end with that comment…k12768952

I find life is not that way…

It is a mixture of good/bad… k6035688

sad/happy… rich/poor… k2340514

love/hate… k12681164

faith/wandering… k2177044

and in the end or near the end of life… if we can say, “I am happy!”… that’s a lot!…

The reference up above says…”and THEY lived happily ever after… Of course they can be one… or in my aspect… with my partner… my husband

My son said once, “Marriage is forever!”… or so he thought… He wanted what his Mom and Dad had… He seemed to feel we were in it for the long haul… and we were!…

“To death do us part!” was taken seriously… in our vows…

His didn’t quite work out that way at first… k8159527

but, now many years later… I believe he has found his “Happily Ever After” too…

All of our “Happys” are different… It’s where we find our contentment…

I can do without very well… where others can’t…

I can love one person forever… some can’t!….

I can see the wisdom learned in enduring hard timesk11172032

… others can’t!…

I can feel the love emanating from all kinds of people… others can’t feel it!…

I can see how being there for others can bring me happiness… others can’t begin to feel it!…

I can be happy with my imperfectionsk12375672 whereas others struggle with being perfect!…

So, yes… I feel I’m living Happily Ever After.. k3441818

because I wake up with good thoughts… feeling loved… and thankful for every day!

“My Joy”…

Gift…

I love reading “Mirth and Motivation‘s” Blog Site  … It “Motivates”…”Elevates”… “Makes You Laugh”…and promotes “Living Positively”…

This is their title… and it follows through with great thought-provoking writings…

It was mentioned the other day that maybe we should try creating a “Joy Compass”… which entails answering the following statement…

I am following my joy when…

I thank God for coming into my life so many years ago…

I wake up with a good attitude

I’m a good partner to my husband…

I tell my son’s “They’re the best!”

I’m a grandma to my grandkids…

I’m a good role model

I care for others …

I give time to things that will make a difference

I create something…

I take time to view nature in all it’s glory…

I keep my body healthy…

I smile and talk to strangers…

I’m there with a listening ear…

don’t judge those who have different opinions and views…

I do something for myself that makes “me” happy…

I discipline without guilt… knowing it’s part of parenting…

I take care of what has been given me…

I honor others with compliments…

I show compassion…

I show love…

I think things through before commenting…

I investigate new things… new words… new ideas…

I keep things clean…

I play with my cat Jill…

I keep in touch with friends and relatives…

25 Joys… and I probably could think of so many more…

It gave me contemplating time… to do this exercise…

It let me know what’s really important in my life…

Thanks “Mirth and Motivation”… always a JOY!

Dusty Things… “They Can Go!”

Gift..

I read this blog this morning… and found it quite inspirational

… It seems a lot of people did… Simple thoughts   … but, put in a way that we could all relate… There are so many “things” in our lives we just don’t need… I began cleaning out “things” from my house … shed… basement… attic… when I retired… Too many things cluttering up our space… So now… maybe I’ll begin cleaning out my “mind”

Too many thoughts that are negative… They can go! …

Too many thoughts of “what ifs”… They can go! …

Too many thoughts of things in the past that way us down… They can go! …

Too many regrets… They can go! …

Too many wishes that are quite impossible… They can go! …

Too many “I’ll do that tomorrows”… They can go! …

Too many “I wish I hads”… They can go! …

Oh, my!… I think I might think and see a little clearer… I think I might have more room for “Happy Thoughts” I think I might be able to see what God has in store for me… I think I see a brighter future!  … I think I see a more purposeful life!… I think I can see!

Please read Dusty Things. See what it inspired me to do!
