I buy this brand of Raisin Bread (Rothbury Farms) all of the time at Wal-mart…
Just for toast at breakfast…
or to make French Toast…
so… I thought this would probably make great Cinnamon Raisin Bread Pudding…
After finding a simple recipe… Allrecipes.com
and having all of the ingredients on hand…
I began to tear bread… about 6 slices... into small pieces...
Melted 2-1/2 tablespoons of margarine in microwave
and drizzled over the bread…
In a mixing bowl combined…
4 eggs
2 cups milk
3/4 cup white sugar
1 – teaspoon cinnamon
1 – teaspoon vanilla extract
beating until well mixed
Poured over bread…
and lightly pushed down bread with a fork…
until bread was covered and soaking up egg mixture...
Baked in hot oven of 350 degrees F…
for 45 minutes…
Top will spring back when lightly tapped and will be a golden brown…
You can top with a simple butter sauce… or like me…
I just poured a little half and half over it…
As I was talking to my Seniors of this recipe… they all wanted it…
so…
I guess I will be making one… (doubling the recipe)… for them next week…
