The grandkids were over last Saturday night for a sleepover…
We call it that…
I hadn’t seen them for a couple of weeks… so I was hungry to see them… I’m sure you know what I mean…
I could almost eat them up… I love them so much!…
They are growing in leaps n’ bounds…
Kennedy is starting Middle School and Carson is in the 3rd Grade…
and they love school…
Both are attending new schools this year… (actually they went back today)… since they moved this past spring…
I’ll have to call and check how it went…
Back to sleepover…
I had rented a video from REDBOX… $1.00 movie rental that is in stores and fast food places…
It was called “The Impossible“…
A depiction of a family who survived the odds of living through a tsunami…
I asked Mom and Dad if it was OK… if they watched it and they said yes…
It was quite intense…
Family before Tsunami…
Movie depiction of Mother and son
The wave starting to come in…
Maria Belon and her real family who endured this tragedy…
You almost held your breath as you rode out this storm with them…
The wall of water…
The debris….
The destruction…
The pain of bodily injury…
The dead…
The struggle for clean water/food…
The people fighting to find out about their loved ones…
It kept you on the edge of your seat…
I believe all of our hearts were beating fast… and were relieved with the ending…
The effects were outstanding!…
After the movie went off… (we had already eaten hamburgers for dinner)… A light snack and drink came and then sleep came pretty easy…
They didn’t get up until 9:30am… watched cartoons… and then I fixed blueberry pancakes… bacon and sausage… Their choice…
I have pancake forms in the shape of a Rooster, Hen and a Barn…
So, I surprised them…
Carson had asked, “What are we were going to do today?”…
I was going to make homemade pretzels with them… but, I think he was thinking of something more like outdoor fun… passing the football… kicking the soccer ball or a walk to Wal-Mart…
and neither happened …
Mom and Dad came earlier than usual… Grocery shopping on their mind… and then to the park to play basketball…
That seemed to appeal to both of them…
So… the pretzels will wait until next Saturday… as Kennedy suggested… when another sleepover is planned…

We had a sleepover Saturday, too! (and Thursday and Friday) Good times. Made cupcakes and homemade pizza.
We are living parallel lives!
I do believe we are…isn’t it fun!
What a cool grandma you are , making the shaped pancakes. The kids must love that.
they are so fun…my day brightens as soon as I see them…
I understand. The grandkids are a blessing, for sure
I just love your rooster pancakes! Bet the Grand-kids did too! I so know what you mean about ‘being hungry’ for their visit. L rang on Saturday morning to say she was coming down just for the weekend and we couldn’t wait to see how our little Bluebell was coming along. What a lovely couple of days – so precious.
We must both grab all we can in the way of our Grand-kids! :)
yes…and I know you do as we do…I imagine Bluebell is growing …she is so beautiful!
