“Hunter’s Moon” or “Blood Moon”.
“To Be Free! ” by: Marilyn Griffin
In Autumn’s night…
It rises full…
Fire color in light…
Reddening pool…
The Red of the Moon…
The color of Blood…
Hunters gather soon…
Traipsing through mud…
Their weapons drawn…
Looking here and there…
Used as their pawn…
Of animals rare…
First the sound…
Then in sight…
Looking around…
Deer in plight…
Eyes appear wide…
Fur wet with sweat…
Others have died…
As hunters met…
Run, it snorts…
Run very fast…
Shots abort…
Free at last!
