This was the quote we are to write about today… and what is so strange… is that I had this same quote taped to my desk 
…
when I worked with Special Education Children at a public school for 30 years…
At that time I didn’t even know the author
… and it didn’t matter… IT spoke to me…
Every day when I walked into our classroom 
… I knew MY days could never be as hard as it was with the children I worked with…
handicapped physically and mentally…
They brought joy to my life every day I saw them…
Their determination…
Their strength…
Their grins…
Their hugs…
Their resilience…
Their innocence…
I had my own struggles as all do.. and to be able to look at my little verse on the edge of my desk… gave me the strength… laughter… love… the focus… and caring
to keep going…
Sometimes it’s just a few words… a few moments of someone’s time… a simple pat on the back… that helps the “tide to turn”…

I love that you had that quotation on your desk, certainly a strength when working with special children. My teaching assistant who worked with me, supporting children in my classes, was very like you I think and she became one of my best friends. :)
I was close to my teachers too…We still talk and meet for lunch every now and then…
